Philippians.Love it. Lu-HUV it.One of the gals in my Bible study, Kim Heinecke, brought up something so awesome that I must share it with you, my internet peeps. Kim and I have similar stories with much different outcomes. And we’re both living blessed lives. She will tell you that her life is the best but I, of course, have to argue that one. I mean seriously, I have the best man alive as my husband AND I have five letters in my first name and five letters in my last name.I know.Regarding verses 12-14 in the 1st chapter, she asks, “How would I fill in the blanks? How do my struggles advance the gospel?”She took the liberty to fill in the blanks for me and I must say, it moved me. Take a look.
Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to Cindy and her encounter with infidelity in marriagehas really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that our God is big enough to redeem all things and to restore that which was broken and wounded. Because of my [her] chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to guard our hearts in marriage and to pray for our spouses but to look to Christ to fill all the voids.
It’s your turn now. Whether you’ve endured some extremely painful circumstances in your life or not, we all have a story to share. Here’s the passage:
Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me ___________________ has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that _______________________. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to ___________.
Share with the rest of us how your life is advancing the gospel.(Previously posted on September 23, 2008.)
