This Is A Test. This Is Only A Test.

I’d like to do an experiment, if you will. While doing my Bible study the other day, I came across the subject of worry. Oh you know the word. Or maybe these… to fret, to stew, to agonize, to pine, to despair. Any of those ring a bell? Thought so. Today, I would like for you to see how many times your mind goes to worrying. In the big things and in the little things. Ask God to show you when you are worrying. Ask Him to gently nudge your spirit when you start to fret over what may never come. Ask Him to help you take thoughts captive when any temptation to pine away your day starts to rear its ugly head. Because tomorrow, I am going to ask you to share how much or how little you think you worry based upon how your day went today. Ready? Go.

  1. Oh geez. I’m planning a wedding, and you ask me to count how many times my mind goes to WORRYING?! Ack.

My sheer dread of counting should be a red flag, no?

  2. I worry more times than I could possibly count although I always think of the verse, Matthew 6:27
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life

Worry accomplishes nothing and prayer always accomplishes something!

  3. You can find my picture under ‘worry’ in Webster’s dictionary. Actually, you can also find it under: Anxious, sad, discouraged, frustrated, mentally exhausted, disappointed, and restless. Took me a while to reach to this point, I’m proud of it! *sarcasm*

Yup, I think that covers it 🙂

  4. i’ve already failed the test… i’m sure of it.

when you find out what in the WORLD i’m up to this weekend, you are going to LAUGH over asking me to keep track of my worries right now. dang.

bad timing, cindy. or maybe good timing!

  5. I can’t say I never worry; I can’t. But if you would have known me in my BC days, OY! OY! OY! I never stopped. Today was a great day, praise God.

  6. a test in the middle of the week….:)
    WOW…okay, we ALL know that I’m a recovering Martha…
    BUT, I’m in….

    deep sigh…..
I have a sinking feeling that I may worry or preoccupy my thoughts 😉 more than I think…

it’s those little, teeny things that trip me up…prayer up!

  7. You know what, my day is almost over and Im just now reading this. For ONCE….I worried only ONCE today, and it was about the silliest little thing. Worry did not consume today, and I thank God.
