“I Don’t Have The Time”

Oh yes you do. You and I both have the time for the things for which we want to have the time. I think the real truth is that we are just not willing to make the time for some things. And you know what? It’s okay. You can’t do it all. Just be real enough to recognize that some things are more important in your life than other things. Toes hurting yet? Thoughts? Discussion? Get at it.

  1. I have a friend who is regularly heard saying, “Time isn’t something you have, it’s something you make.” Yep. We make time for all kinds of things that don’t seem to edify us, our families, others or God, but at the end of the day, or even the beginning, how many say, “I don’t have time to read my bible, or pray, or even – EEEK! – go to church. People need to start giving their heads a shake. If you have time to turn the tv on or read the newspaper you definitely have time for God and those He loves.

  2. A few years ago, a tumor was discovered in the back of the head of our friends’ little boy. I remember how this changed every so-called priority in their lives. It made me think, wow….the things that I deem important really aren’t. You would think that I would always remember this story, but oh how I forget ALL THE TIME.

  3. You are right Cindy. One thing that I’ve tried to do is avoid committing to too many things that are perpetual like “every monday at 2:00”. By having every minute of my life scheduled I have to turn down spontaneous invitations, or driving on my kids field trips. Some scheduling is unavoidable, but remaining free and open means saying yes to things I would have missed otherwise.

  4. People don’t make enough time to establish and cultivate friendships. Too consumed with the fast paced and other activities (married people: Gotta go take the kids to the karate class, then off to the baseball game, and pick up stuff from the cleaner, not to mention if you’re involved in the ministry..that’s another busy stuff right there…etc..plus house chores).

Oh btw- I was going to respond to your email cindy..but eerh…uhmm..I didn’t have the time! πŸ™‚ 😐

  5. This is so broad and so much of a white canvas to write about. I could spend hours here, but it’s a comment section.

    1. If you make time you have time
    2. Things don’t happen unless you try
    3. God should never be on your appt calender, He should be before the appointment calendar.
    4. If you DON’T invest in relationships either marriage, dating, mentoring, or just plain friendships they will become lifeless.

Finally from my soapbox, I’m sorry my friend Cindy.

What’s more important the things that TAKE your time or the the THING (HIM) that gives you your time??
Get on your knees and let me tell you He’ll help you re-prioritze. He simply did for me.

  6. thanks for stepping on my toes. I was complaining to my husband about how I don’t have time to scrapbook anymore and he said (in so many words), “You would if you didn’t spend so much time reading blogs!!”
