Miscellaneous

Hello. My Name Is Cindy. And I Am Refreshed.

Hellllloooooooooooo.

And how was your June?

Mine?  Well, let’s see.  I did a handful or thirty things.

I think I’ll make a list.  It’s long.  With pictures.

1.  Spent eight days in Orlando, Florida, at Walt Disney World with my hubby and sons. I highly recommend going.  HIGHLY.  And get the regular meal plan.  SO. WORTH. IT.

2.  My baby boy, the five and ONE QUARTER-year old, had a few Tball games and practices. Love going to these.  There are fewer funnier things, in my opinion, than watching five and six year olds play Tball.  Good for the soul, it is.

3.  My ALMOST seven-year old stepson spent five weeks with us. Oh, I miss him already.  He’s such a joy to have and pretty dog-gone funny.  Did I mention he has mad dance moves?  Indeed he does.  Indeed, indeed.

4.  My oldest, the 10-year old, began his summer basketball season. Got new basketball shoes and everything.  Fay-yun-cee.  He’s never played before so we are hoping he learns some great skills so that he can play like his 6’4″ Uncle David.

5.  Did some fun activities with my BSers. My BSers, Bible Studiers, and I had Pool Tuesdays, went to a movie, picked blackberries with our kiddos and are excited about our upcoming cookout at my house where we could have 24 adults and easy 20+ kids.  Yowza.  Good times.

6.  Cooked a lot, cleaned some. Do you have ANY idea the amount of dirt three boys bring into a house?  Did I mention they play outside a good portion of the day?  Yes, right.  DUHR-TEE.

7.  Read three books. Tribes by Seth Godin, Axiom by Bill Hybels and Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  Seven more books to read before school starts.  Tribes was okay mainly because most of it was over my head, Axiom was uh-MAY-zing and I’m still processing Crazy Love.  A good, uncomfortable processing.

8.  Enjoyed many hours on the back porch with my hubby, @chrisdbeall. We seriously built our house with that porch in mind.  It has not disappointed.

9.  Had a few doctor’s appointments. My bloodwork showed that with my 30-lb. weight loss, my cholesterol has dropped from 213 (back in December) to 166.  THAT IS A 47-POINT DROP!  Hoping that means I can get off my meds.  We’ll see 🙂 Woo hop!

10.  Oh, and I finished my first draft of my new book. I FINISHED MY FIRST DRAFT OF MY NEW BOOK!!!  Can you tell I’m excited?  Doesn’t mean that there won’t be more work ahead because there will be.  What it means is that I FINISHED THE FIRST DRAFT OF MY NEW BOOK!!!  Sorry for the yelling, but I. AM. SUPER. THRILLED.  At least 80% of it is NEW content so if you have read the one I have on my website, stay tuned.  And please pray. I don’t know what sort of route we’ll take with publishing.

But enough about me.  What about you?  I feel like I don’t know what’s going on in your life.  So, will you tell me?  Give me a comment and give me some of your June highlights.

Cuz I sure missed you.

  1. Missed reading your blog, glad to have you back, and glad you’re refreshed! We’re launching a church in September so it’s been one crazy summer, on top of having a third child in November! Whoa…good thing God is in control! 🙂

  2. My morning coffee taste much better with you back.

As for me, I’ve been in Georgia. And, I can’t wait to see your face again. You know, in the real life.

  3. Glad you are back. I have missed your sense of humor as well as your insight. And you look WONDERFUL! I’m sure you feel fantastic too! Congratulations!

  4. Congratulations!!! Nice to have you back, and I’m glad the month was so wonderful!!!

And yeah, finishing even the first draft is a big deal. I totally understand. And, you know, they say that 90% of aspiring novelists/writers never even get THAT far! (Oh…and if you’re looking for a crit partner, let me know. I write fiction, not non-fiction, so perhaps I might not suit. But I have yet to find/form my own circle of people to exchange manuscripts with for critiquing, or beta reading, etc. So I’m trying to put out feelers.)

As for publishing…if you aren’t already, start reading Agent Rachelle Gardner’s blog. She’s a Christian, she sells to NY and to the CBA market, and her blog is chock full of really good information.

  5. Good morning…I’m new to your blog and a new FB Friend.

I reconnected with a friend through FB that I have not seen in 14 years and at the first of June went to Missouri to visit with her and her family. Went to my first major league baseball game, Cardnials. Had a blast even though the Rockies walked all over them. Of course I had to visit the Arch….what a view! It was just wonderful to spend time with her and find out we have that type of friendship that we can just pick up right where we left off.

I look forward to returning here.

I will be remembering you in prayer when it comes to your book. This is a topic that can affect a woman in so many areas of her life, emotions and self worth. Praying this will work out so I can read the new material.

    Blessings to you!

  6. Cindy… I missed my heart words all monthe before I hit the beach.

    K, I up to your challenge…

    1. My 18 daughter (i know I look so young) graduated from high school and got her first job at a museum, her dream job.

    2. My husband had a teensy weensy heart attack

    3. My 16 year old son did the unthinkable and got his ears pierce without telling anyone.

    4. My sweet almost 9 year old jumped off the diving board the very first time.

    5. Me… hmmm. I worked alot (ya know to pay for the earrrings)

Most of all, the most exciting, I had a reunion with my flesh and blood sisters. I hadn’t seen one in 12 years and the other in 8 years. Until we hugged in the airport, I didn’t realize how much my heart ached and cried for them. It was the best day of my life.

  7. So glad to hear that you are refreshed! I’ve missed reading your thoughts.

That’s GREAT news about your book! I can hardly wait until it is completely revised. I’ll be praying for you. I would love nothing more than to publish my own book some day, so please keep us informed about the publishing process. 🙂

    Blessings!
    Melissa

  8. I missed your blog! June was a weird month. Got rid of my facebook, twitter, and myspace. Had some friendships that went sour because the truth came out. My hubby had a job that did not go well and I know God will use it for His good, even though I can’t see it now. I wish it had been a happy month, but it wasn’t. God still is who He is, so that’s all I need. Oh my oldest did turn 9! That was a great day. Sad too because my babies are getting older, but mostly great!

  9. Hi
    You know I missed you!!
    Let’s See June….
-On June 1st we buried Mel.
-On June 2nd Craig started painting to deal with his grief. He is still painting.
-Spent alot of time in Prayer.
    -Received a Care Receiver.
-Spent a great weekend with one of my bestest friends and we attend a Beth Moore Conference.
-Spent alot of time in Prayer.
-Have been trying to deal with the enemy that wants to make me feel inferior and unloved.
-Spent alot of time in Prayer.

Basically I should have just stuck with “I Was Here” 🙂

    Love Ya –Welcome Back!

  12. I am SO glad you are back. I praise God that you had an amazing June and all of the things you did and accomplished…that being said…I’ll repeat myself – I’m SO glad you are back! 🙂

My June was as close to amazing as I have seen in a whole year…I saw May end in tears as I thought my marriage was ending…and I saw June start with a husband committed to getting the help he needs to repair our marriage and our family. And the greatest thing about ending the month was our wedding anniversary yesterday…now on to July!

You have prayed for us and encouraged me in so many ways – both by your emails and your blog entries and I thank God for you and if I didn’t mention it before…I’m glad you are back!!!!
