Fave Scripture – Isaiah 55:8-9

I don’t think the way you think.  The way you work isn’t the way I work.  God’s Decree: For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. (The Message)
What I love about this passage is that is provides me peace when I don’t grasp the things happening around me.  I find it comedic, actually, when people don’t think they can believe in God because they don’t understand everything about Him. If you hear one thing today, hear this:  We are not perfect. Therefore, we will not understand every move God makes or every plan He has. So, when those days come, and they will, when you don’t understand why your spouse won’t work on your marriage, when your child comes down with a debilitating disease, how you’ll buy groceries for your family, why you can’t find a job, why your dreams on earth don’t seem to come true even though you are following hard after Christ, rest. Rest in the fact that He created the Heavens and Earth in six days and that He is absolutely in control of the universe. Andy Stanley says, “You don’t have to understand everything to believe in something.” Something to think about…

  1. Love This!! I think about this fact so often, but I did not know the scripture. Wish I could be a fly on his wall one day.

  2. Thanks Cindy, what a great reminder. These are the verses I spoke to my husband on our wedding day. I’m in the middle of trying to understand our second son and why it seems that our prayers going unanswered . . . I know .. . they aren’t unanswered, He’s just saying “Wait”. If you think of it, pray for our son’s heart and our patience . . . it is wearing so very thing. Thanks.
