Um, not trying to be negative, but also keepin’ in real. The beginning? The boxing match? Not so much. Nice try, producers. Okay, back to being positive. Songs chosen by Clive Davis: Cook – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Lookin’ For – Oh Lordy, he sounds good so far. What a great song and what a great voice. Good call to leave the guitar behind. That boy is a star. Wow-wee. Nice ending, DC. Archuleta – Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me – This is a great song for him. He has amazing pitch. Chill bumps are back, folks. I like his ad-libbing. That’s a talent that few can really do well and he “do it well”, y’all. Chasing Rabbit #1: Okay, so Archuleta can sing. I will not dispute that. But, it appears to me that the judges are setting up the win for the boy over Cook. I’m just sayin’. New Songs: Cook – Dream Big – Smart boy to bring the gih-tar back on a song that is not known by everyone. It adds that cool factor. Nice sounding song. He is a tremendous singer and he brings an all-around package. However, he isn’t as much of a feeler as the next guy. Really liked this song and his performance. Archuleta – In This Moment – A ballad. Predictable, but if that’s what you do well, then do it. The thing going for Archuleta, besides the teenage girl votes, is that he is believable. People connect with people who connect with them. What countenance that child has. He’s 17 and is singing on a stage in front of 7,000 people. That is impressive. I’d be shakin’ in my boots and standin’ in a puddle of pee pee. Did I say that out loud? Very fitting song for him. Didn’t knock me over but he did a mighty nice job. Chasing Rabbit #2: If Simon doesn’t quit giving Archuleta all the props, I think the little man might pull a Marie Osmond and faint on the stage. Girl, you know it’s true. Contestant’s Choice: Cook – The World I Know – You know, this boy is probably not going to win the competition but it has nothing to do with talent. He’ll have a record deal waiting on his voicemail before Ryan can even do a re-cap of the evening. He’ll be another Daughtry. I just like his vibe. I like how he is way cool but yet can really sing, too. Love me some David Cook. Oooo, nice falsetto ending. Ah, sweet boy is crying. I’d like to hand the boy a tissue. So, so proud of him. People all season long have called him arrogant and frankly, I DISAGREE. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY DISAGREE. And I have the gift of the discernment. I’m just sayin’. Archuleta – Imagine – He is not a fool. If I sounded as good on this song as he did, I’d be singin’ it everywhere I went…the store, the bank, church…yeah, that’s pretty much all I do. I don’t get out much. If I was that boy’s momma I be cryin’ a river. Chris Beall is cryin’ again and who can blame the preachin’ sweetie. This song and performance is out of this world. He seriously needs to do this as one of his songs on his new CD. He sang three ballads tonight and stole the entire show. Who called it, y’all? Who called it? Y’all know who called it. The Bealls did. We called it way back when the Top 12 were chosen. Don’t believe me? Click HERE. We know our talent and I happen to know how teenage girls think 🙂 But please. Give some love to DC. He does deserve it. It has been a
