Making Progress

IMG_0009I posted a video on June 8th telling you about my new book contract with Harvest House Publishers.

That was 82 days ago.

Since that time I have only posted one time, which was on July 13th.

Why, you ask?

Because I’ve been head down with my computer in my lap working to get to my 60,000 word contractual amount.

I’m pleased to tell you that your prayers have truly carried me to hit 52,101 words as of today. That’s just shy of 8,000 to go.

I’m on the home stretch. I can feel it. While the number 8,000 doesn’t seem to be as daunting of a task as 60,000 did, I still have so much to do. In the midst of a busy writing schedule, I still homeschool my sons and teach at a coop, speak at events, minister at my church, carry out my duties at Leading and Loving It and managing our home and family dynamics. You know, nothing much.

So, this post is just to let you know that I’m still alive. Still pushing forward on this book that I believe will help people progress even more on their own healing journeys.

And I will let you know when I’ve turned in my manuscript. It’s due on September 30th…my 45th birthday ♥

Help! I Need Somebody! Help! Not Just Anybody!

This sort of stuff is absolutely, without a doubt out of my comfort zone. I don’t have a problem receiving help and even asking for it when it comes to many things. I am not too proud to ask for prayer or help with my sons or assistance from friends and family about needs I have. But when it comes to asking someone to promote me or my book, I feel kinda funny about it.  Just keepin’ it real, y’all. When people browse through books on Amazon.com, many of them read the reviews to see if they want to purchase a book or not. At this point, I have 37 reviews and all of them are great. I am truly humbled by the kind words. But I know this won’t always be the case. Somebody will write a negative review of my book at some given point in time. They’ll probably say that I encourage people to be a doormat or that I don’t have the credentials to offer advice or that the God I serve isn’t real or that I’m an idiot because “once a cheater, always a cheater”. Because I expect this at some point, I need your help today. I know many of you have had the opportunity to read my book. I know this because you write to me and tell me how God ministered to you through it. That brings me so much joy. More than you can know. If you have read my book and found it helpful, would you write a positive review for me at Amazon.com? I would certainly appreciate it. If you are willing to write a review click HERE. Your review might be the very thing that encourages someone to read my book. And I believe that God will speak to them through the words in my book because friend, they are His words.

Atlanta Live!

So most of you are probably not near Atlanta but if you are, tune in tonight to Atlanta Live! Chris and I will be on the show with host Shelley Hendrix. We are excited to be a part of this while we are attending the Catalyst Conference. Hopefully, we’ll be able to post a link of our segment soon. Have a great day!

Marriage Today Taping!

I first heard Jimmy Evans speak back in 2008. Chris and I were at a conference at Gateway Church and he was one of the speakers. Loved him. LOVED HIM. Pastor Jimmy is the senior pastor/elder of Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo, Texas, and has been there since he was 29 years old. Not only that, but he has been married to his wife, Karen, for 39 years. They openly share that they haven’t had a perfect marriage. (Who has?) But, instead of allowing their struggles to victimize them, they have instead shared their journey in many resources and on their TV show called Marriage Today Today, Chris and I have the opportunity to sit down with Jimmy and Karen and share our story. We are so very thrilled that they asked us to be on their show! We aren’t sure when it will air so stay tuned to my “Media/Events” page for updates. Have a great day!
