Create spreadsheets, organize, clean, sing, write, be a friend.
Those several things come easy to me. I don’t really need to think or concentrate or give any extra special attention. I just do them. Sometimes more than one at a time.
Stop the applause.
But the more important things such as marriage, motherhood and mentoring are callings on my life that are beyond me. Being a wife, a mom and a mentor is something with which I need assistance.
Every…single…day.
John 14:16-17 says:
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
Did you catch that? God’s Spirit lives WITH me and will be IN me because I know Christ as my Lord and Savior.
And if you know Him, He’s taken up residence in you as well. His dwelling place, if you will.
That deserves a holla if anything ever did.
So you have a struggle with your child and have no idea what to do. Your job situation is not going according to plan. A relationship that needs to be mended is far out of your reach. The life is gone from your marriage and you are clueless as to how to resuscitate it.
Those things are beyond you.
Think it’s time for you to lean on the One who makes all things new.

I just found your website and this blog resonated with me. I have a relationship that I would dearly like to have mended. It is SO out of my reach. I am trying to apply the lessons of II Chronicles 20, when Jehosophat turned to God and said, “I don’t know what to do.” I have to do that about 1,000 times a day. Yet I know God is hearing my prayers and is at work even though the silence on this situation is deafening.
