It’s My Story: Kim

Six weeks after my second son was born I became a statistic โ€“ one of over 2 million women raising children alone.
I didn’t know Kim Heineckeย  back then. In fact, when I met her several years ago, her belly was big because she was expecting boy #3 with husband #2. Little did I know that after boy #2 was born, her husband of six years announced without warning, and without a good reason he was leaving her and their two sons.ย  Was it porn? Was it another woman? Was it a desire for something more than being a father and husband? Yes to all. I’d like for you to read Kim’s words as she shares her own testimony. Even though your heart will break as you read her words, it is nothing short of brilliance in writing.ย  My Testimony…In Case You Didn’t Know Kim is one of my very best friends on the planet. I “do life” with her every week. I’m inspired by the way she mothers her four boys. I’m tickled by her humor. I’m touched by her wisdom. I’m challenged by her faith. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I kinda like her ๐Ÿ™‚ My heart breaks for those of you who were abandoned by your spouse. You may feel unloved and unwanted like Kim did. But you are not. Your Heavenly Father adores you and wants to comfort you. Here’s what Kim wants to share with you:
It is my testimony that when the Lord becomes the fountain of everything meaningful in your life โ€“ when He is your companion, your protector, your provider โ€“ you will never be lost or disappointed by what happens or doesnโ€™t happen on your journey.
Let Him in.

  1. Kim, What a post! I can only say “WOW”! Praise God for His Goodness! “It is my testimony that when the Lord becomes the fountain of everything meaningful in your life…” Everyday I feel another tug of God pulling me toward Him..where He is my everything. Your words are very inspirational and speak to me personally. Thank you.

  2. Kim, I couldn’t agree with you more. It is NOT about results but about what happens during the journey. Our journey doesn’t end with marriage, divorce, remarriage. Our journey is our life. All kinds of events happen in life and our only Constant is Christ. I am so thankful for all that He has seen me through and is still helping me deal with on a moment by moment basis. I’m not being “churchy” by saying He is my all in all. He is. He is the only one to see me through every single moment of my life and for my kiddos. When I took my eyes off a “desired result” and just focused on Him…that is when I discovered how much He loved me. That truth is what wakes me up in the morning and helps me to sleep at night.
Blessings on your journey and may He continue to be exactly what you need each and every moment!

  3. Wow! I am speechless what an incredible powerful testimony. I had read your story on your blog before but it still gets to me after reading it again. When I was reading it again I noticed that you write from your heart and so it feels like when I’m reading it I’m right there with you. I’m so sorry for all the pain you had when your husband walked out Satan has a way of making us feel like crap and keeping us there, your son what a blessing God used him to show you that God was always there He wanted to know you were all He needed for you. I love how He took all pain and how you solely relyed on Him for everything. I praise God He used your son that morning what an incredible thing.
Your testimony is powerful and i know it has helped so many that felt like you or feel like you now. It brings hope, encouragement, redemption and healing to others. Thanks for sharing I see on your blog you have another son and another incredible guy. God is good I will be praying for you. ๐Ÿ™‚ Blessings
