It’s My Story: Jenni

Jenni Clayville has been very open about her journey through infidelity just like I have. There’s only one difference between us: She’s a short Asian and I’m a tall Caucasian. (Wait, no, that’s not it.) What I meant to say is that she was the unfaithful spouse. She was the one who broke her marriage vows and subsequently the heart of her husband. Some people find themselves in extramarital affairs almost like they are in a dreamland. They sometimes don’t realize what they are doing, I hear. But Jenni knew and says this about it:
I made my own grown-up choice and I WALKED INTO adultery.
It’s been my honor to become friends with Jenni over the last couple of years. I have watched a young woman own her sin, walk in brokenness and bring hope and help to many others through her poor choices. I have seen redemption happen in her marriage. Over these couple of years, we have formed an online friendship…the healthy kind…and eventually got to meet face to face this last May. I’d love for you to read about Jenni’s story. She’s done such a good job of sharing it online that I decided to just post the links to her 4-part story right here. Jenni’s Story: Part One Jenni’s Story: Part Two Jenni’s Story: Part Three Jenni’s Story: Part Four Adultery is not just a man’s sin. I’m receiving more and more emails from women who’ve been unfaithful to their husbands. If that’s you, I pray you are challenged to come clean, get out of the sin that has tangled you up and find freedom and redemption. Jenni makes the same challenge to you.

  1. Jenni, what a powerful story! It’s so awesome your husband shares his feelings and his side of the story as well. Praise God for your openness, understanding true forgiveness, and letting God do His job – be the healer! I will be praying your marriage continues to heal and grow.

  2. I love Jenni’s story because it is so open, so raw, and so powerful. It gives hope when hope seems impossible. I’m so thankful for people like Jenni – and you, Cindy – who open share their stories and restore possibility in the hearts of others who feel their battle is impossible.

  3. Cindy… i love you, girl. love you for so so so much and for saying such sweet things about me.

i miss your giant amazon woman hug.

  4. Thank you for sharing your story it is very powerful and amazing what God has done in your lives, what I love so much about it was when God wanted you to tell your church and all your friends your church stood by you. Do you know how many churches turn against people and do not support them and your marriage would not be the same. Its through love, support, encouragement that God heals. Your story is similar to Cindy and Chris’s in how God wanted you to share it with others. Its astounding how many marriages gave been through adultery but also how many marriages stay together after reading your story. God will use and will continue to use your story to help others. Its not always easy marriage but I pray for you and Brianthat God continues to strengthen you both in your marriage and that your story will help others restore their marriages. I love reading your blog it helps me know where to pray for you guys. 🙂
